This website has been produced by the Office for Adult Chaplaincy and Formation for the Diocese of Northampton. The Office develops lay ministry and leadership, with a particular responsibility for hospital, prison and university chaplaincy. Fr Francis Higgins
Fr Francis has a long-term interest in lay formation, including an MA in Adult Education from Boston College. He is also Dean of Milton Keynes and Director of the Permanent Diaconate.
Avril Baigent
Avril started her working life in a parish in Slough and went on to create the Youth Office for the Diocese. She has a passion for seeing people grow in faith and for rediscovering the treasures of the Church. She is currently studying for a PhD at Durham University, and is Chapel Homilist for Corpus Christi College, Oxford, but volunteering in her parish as children’s liturgy leader and musician is what keeps her feet on the ground.
