Pathways of Prayer is an online resource that was developed for the Year of Prayer and Vocation. It is a six week course, starting by asking why we pray, moving onto finding time to pray, different types of prayer, and covering prayer in hard times as well. The course can be done by individuals and groups, and has been run successfully with a whole variety of groups including as part of an RCIA programme, with first communion parents, by a parish council, as well as Lent groups in parishes.
Registering as a group leader gives you the leader handbook as a download – this has everything you need to run the group, including prayer times, hints on setting up your space, and how to facilitate small groups. Then, when your group members register, they receive a prayer journal to print off and fill in as they go through the course. How could you use Pathways of Prayer in your parish?
Pathways of Prayer opened a whole new horizon to me. It gave me access to Spiritual Leaders I did not know existed and encouraged me to make a little more fruitful use of my computer. It gave me insight and encouragement and also increased confidence in expressing my faith.
